Description

"Measure to Measure" is one of Shakespeare's comedies that is also termed a problem play, because of its dark plot line. An aspiring nun, Isabella, is faced with an impossible choice after her brother is sentenced to death for the crime of "fornication". When a corrupt deputy propositions her and says she can trade her virginity for her brother's life, Isabella refuses and her brother seems headed for the chopping block. 

With 15 actors playing 19 roles, the cast is comprised of both veteran actors to Riverside Shakespeare and first time Riverside Shakespeare company members. All performances are free, although donations are always appreciated.
